Rosette, short-stemmed plant up to 20 cm high and 15 cm in diameter, with very juicy, triangular in cross-section, relatively short leaves contrasting color: on a dark green background of the many almost white strokes. Leaves spirally arranged in three rows on the upper side grooved on the lower boat-shaped, with the keel. Flowering orange-red tubular flowers on a short stalk succulent. Red flowers, up to 3.5 cm long. It blooms in April and May. It grows on rocky soils in arid regions in South Africa.
